Thank God for Thomas! I say that deliberately. Praise God for Thomas, one of Jesus’ disciples who was a witness to Jesus after He rose from the dead. As you may recall, Thomas is one of Jesus’ followers who has been given the unfortunate name, “Doubting Thomas.” “Doubt,” however, may be too light a word to describe Thomas’ refusal to believe his fellow disciples when they told him they had seen the risen Jesus. He flat-out refused to believe unless he could see the marks of the nails in Jesus’ hands and touch the place where those nails pierced his Savior—along with the wound from the spear that had been thrust into His side.
